It´s 10pm and I get a phone call from the EPA. (Eurpoean Press-Photo Agency) There has been another granade attack in the local area of Mishomoroni. I jump in my car and try to get to the scene of the attack as quickly as possible to try and document what has happened. There is a large crowd at the scene and the police have already cordoned of the area, I manage to get through and take a few shots.
Here are a few images from the day:
This was a great gig, it took place at the PanAfric hotel in Nairobi. Saferworld are a fantastic organisation doing some great things around the world. The PPP is To improve the relevance and impact of EU programming in selected crisis countries/regions by supporting high-quality participatory analysis of both the causes and dynamics of conflict and fragility and promoting effective responses to address them. They are working very hard to prevent and control any post-election violence in Kenya.
I was fortunate enough to be able to witness and document this. It is good to see organisations and individuals fighting for the good of other people.
I was lucky enough to witness and take some pictures for an amazing charity in Nairobi, Kenya. Sarakasi specialise with helping young people, Wether it´s at hospitals introducing `clowning´ to help kids forget and ease them through what they are going through to assisting and developing childrens skills at youth prisons.
I got invited to a Youth Prison in The outskirts of Nairobi to document the work that gets done here. Some truely great volunteers and organizers make this possible. I´m looking forward to my next visit.
April 27th, A man is arrested after a siege in an HGV logistics office on Tottenham Court Road. He threw computers from the windows, is reported to have had gas canisters strapped to his body and was holding four men hostage until police evacuated the building.
As soon as I heard about this I got to the scene as fast as possible, I was lucky enough to get a few images up close, with a few other journalists. definitely a day to remember.
Here a few shots from the day.
A few weeks ago I was asked to photograph an event showcasing artist and musician Emma Richardson´s latest exhibition `Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’.´ All set in a great location in the heart of Shoreditch. Drinks were flowing; sponsored by Kraken rum and Peroni. A great night of fun, friends and some fantastic art.
This was a day full of surprises and hard work, the Developer Days for Nokia in Munich proved to be a great gig. As on other jobs I had to keep to deadlines and work within a tight brief, to ensure all the shots needed were obtained and of course to the highest standards. Over time I have begun to perfect time organization and keeping to tight schedules. This was a great opportunity to put all those skills to the test, at a 3 day event with well over 3000 attendees.
A very interesting couple of days learning about what´s new and in the making in the world of apps, the functionalities of the upcoming Mobile apps through great workshops and guest speakers.
